Happy Thanksgiving

1	Florida	1	It’s splitting hairs among these three teams. I bumped Florida and Texas up because they handled Vanderbilt and UCF respectively, while Alabama struggled at home with LSU. LSU is a quality opponent, but Florida was able to handle them on the road with a limited Tebow.

5	Georgia Tech	3	The Bees needed overtime to beat a feisty Wake Forest. However, the only thing I’m taking away from the game is CPJ’s balls to go for it on down by 3 in OT on 4th down.
6	Cincinnati	1	I like that they held off the Uconn comeback, but an elite team (defense) never lets them back into the game to begin with.
7	Boise State	3	They struggled with Louisiana Tech and Oregon lost, yet they move up… Ahh the benefit of the teams above you losing.

9	Southern Cal	5	Matt Barkley struggled and the defense forced four turnovers. When they put together a complete game they’re going to be good.

Without thinking twice I know everyone (who isn’t senile) will include Alabama, Florida and Texas in their Top Five. The next two spots are open to debate and I gave the nod to Cincinnati because of two impressive road wins (Oregon State, USF) also they’re a balanced well coached team. Southern Cal is another top-fiver because of, again, road wins (tOSU, Cal, ND), an emerging Matt Barkley and all of the talent starting to play together.

As far as the Next Seven is concerned the ACC is well represented because there are three very good, but not elite teams. If Oregon beats USC I’d have to consider them for Top Five consideration. And Iowa is on the brink of overtaking Cincy.
