After charging through an unusually wild off season kickoff 2010 is right around the corner. Over the last eight months the Big Ten expanded, the Big 12 almost collapsed, Boise State moved on up, Utah and BYU got the hell out, the WAC got raided and a bunch of student athletes got arrested doing both insanely stupid and hilarious things. I’m ready for kickoff and I know you are too.
Unfortunately, I have to break some news to you guys… I won’t be updating College Game Balls anymore. Sorry for the short notice, but I wanted to do the humane thing and wait until the eve of our holiday season to inform you. What started out as shoddy writing, a sounding board for my disappointment in the 05-06 Hokies, and a forum to recognize the worst performances of the week blossomed into less shoddy writing, analysis, in depth statistics, signs and a great community. It was a good run.
I want to thank Magglio Merkin and Tomas Verde for contributing last year, the other bloggers who thought enough of the work here to promote it and most importantly everyone who visited the site.

Only because it was at the top of Bryan Ranall Google results and one of our favorite reads is Maryland authenticated. Got to talk that trash.
Obligatory site news. We tweaked the look and feel around these parts a bit. We tried to make things a little cleaner by only using three columns on the home page. We also upgraded wordpress and all of our plugins since we’ve neglected to do so for the last bit of eternity. If you have any problems, let us know then quickly point your browser to a better blog.
