According to hokiesports.com it looks like Virginia Tech has indeed rescheduled it’s September 4th  game against Central Michigan to October 9th.  The only plausible reason for such a move is to free up Labor Day to travel to FedEx to play Boise State. I expect an announcement confirming this soon.
Here are the positives and negatives from both the Bronco and Hokie perspective. I’ve been against this move for two reasons:
- A lean non-conference schedule will give our young defense and late blooming offense a chance to gel.
- I’d like to see Boise State play a blockbuster game during the middle of the season.
UPDATED 2/2/10
The other shoe has dropped via @JeffCren
FedExField, the home of the Washington Redskins, will be the site when Virginia Tech hosts Boise State University on Monday, Sept. 6. The kickoff time will be released at a later date.
Thoughts?

Major props to V Tech for scheduling Boise. It is hard enough for them to get a game with a major player let alone a home and home.
Do any BCS conference teams play a blockbuster OOC during the season? Isn’t the trend to put those no the bookends of the schedule?

Why the hell is our home schedule such shit? The only good game is going to be GT from the looks of it.

This is going to be a great game. I’m very excited to see Boise State follow in the footsteps of VT. As an alumni of VT, I watched a team get built up from crappy schedules to a credible and visible force to be respected. In fact, watching the Tenn/VT bowl game was almost embarrassing because VT dominated the airspace from the commentators. Now watching BSU show such a grounded program, based on a faithful and grounded coach, has just been incredible. They’ve been bringing in money to build up the school & conference just like VT has since ‘93. Pretty cool. Really looking forward to this one. My two favorite teams. Just not sure if that makes me a Honko, or a Brokie!
GO HOKIES!

@Viper_Chief The ECU game won’t be that bad but I agree it’s kind of silly that UNC, Miami, BC and GT alternate. In the odd years we get all three at home it’s awesome, but in the even years it blows. These neutral site kickoff games aren’t helping matters either. We should take on home-and-homes with our home dates in even years to balance the ACC schedule.
@HokieinIdaho So no Bronco burgers for you?
