1) Let’s just say, not trying to jinx anything here, but let’s just say the Tigers make the ACC Championship game versus Georgia Tech. Who wins, and why?
As much as I’d like to read about Winfield, Bird and Dane running rampant through Tampa while inebriated I think Clemson will pull the upset. Simply put, their first game was close, they’re both talented and I subscribe to the theory that it’s difficult to beat a team twice in one year.
2) Has the ACC taken the form that you thought it would at the beginning of the season? If not, what didn’t you see coming? Disappointments? Pleasant surprises?
I thought the ACC would, once again, be a clusterfuck. I was a little off. Georgia Tech neatly wrapped up the Coastal division, and only Clemson and Boston College are alive in the Atlantic. I thought Virginia Tech would three-peat so I’m just a little disappointed in my Hokies.
3) If your team is not in contention for the ACCCG, what are the necessary changes your program has to make to get your team into the game next year? If there’s still a shot, what do you guys need to have happen in order to find yourself in Tampa? Non-team specific writers, pick your flavor of the week and go with it.
We weren’t very far off this year, we just had a tough break at home and couldn’t finish in Atlanta. Next year I expect us to return to elite form on defense, so that’s not even a concern for me. As far as the offense goes, I’d like us to introduce some new wrinkles to reduce our predictability. Coach Paul Johnson taking the Notre Dame job would be helpful.
4) If you could point to one player as the brightest spot on your team, who would that person be? Extrapolate a little for us please.
Danny Coale, because he’s clutch and needs love too. For details, watch below.
5) Swap one player on your team for a player from your hated rival. Who you got and why?
Vic Hall, he deserves better.

You’re wrong cgb. The data says so: http://www.fromtherumbleseat.com/2009/11/6/1117254/regular-season-rematches

@Winfield I don’t think it’s a matter of right or wrong, but more a case of how you want to use past data to predict the future. I read the original post and a 61.9% (winner of the first game wins the rematch) isn’t that overwhelming of a number to me. For starters it’s a historical trend, which is helpful to start you down a path, but isn’t the end all. I would be more interested to know how for BCS conferences the winners of a close game the first time around made out in the rematch. That would describe the Clemson-Georgia Tech game a little better.
Either way, my logic isn’t just an application of the law of averages. I think both Clemson and GT are two very solid teams with phenomenal playmakers. However, I believe Clemson is the more dangerous team because they’re hotter. Both teams have improved since they’ve played, but the Tigers have improved more.

Clemson went from a turd to a turd sandwich. F you Tigers!
Stats for BCS conferences: 8 regular season winners have won the conference championship out of 14 rematches. That’s 57.1% of the time. Boo! Tigers Suck! Boo!
Dabo: CJ, Are they booing me?
CJ Spiller: No, they’re saying “DAH BOO! DAH BOO!”
