On Saturday I made my way to watch the Hokies battle the Turtles in old-fashioned Byrd Stadium. All in all, it was a fun trip.

I was strapped with airplane bottles and when I arrived I met some friendly Hokies who were too generous with their beers. To put it mildly I was buzzed. The hometown fanatics were hospitable and I didn’t encounter any dickheads.

As for actual game analysis we saw again how good this team can be when they hit on all cylinders. Tyrod, Williams, Boykin and Roberts were all spectacular and credit to the offensive line for giving the flash time to strut their stuff. The defense held the Terrapins to 236 yards and 3 points. We should have no trouble doing the same to North Carolina State and UVA. If we handle our business and look dominate in a bowl win I’ll consider the season a moderate success.

And let’s drop some props to Girls Don’t Know Sports for making good on our bet.

Because, come on, deep down inside all girls love the Hokies (or some Hokie [tasteless]).
