by On Saturday, Nov. 14, the Virginia Tech football team will take the field wearing the Nike Pro Combat uniform, a new system of dress and the lightest football uniform Nike has ever created. Virginia Tech will be one of 10 elite football programs to debut the Nike Pro Combat uniform this month before they are officially introduced at the start of the 2010 season.
Reasons why I hate them:
- If you haven’t already noticed take another look at the calf design. What logo of our sworn enemy is formed like Voltron when a player stands tall? Give up…
sigh - The “I just figured out my first Photoshop effect” gradient on the numbers.
- Acceptable names are: Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, Virginia Tech or VT. Nike you’re embarassing yourself with putting ‘VA TECH’ on the back. And yes I know it’s just a mock up.
- The big deal surrounding the unveiling distracted and took time away from our struggling team.
Reasons why I’ll tolerate them:
- As Furrer4Heisman said, they could’ve done worse.
- Contrary to Box, I like the white helmets. But I agree, they can’t carry the jock of the throwback helmets.
Reason why I love them:
- The cleats are the fucking shiznit. “UT PROSIM” is written inside them.
- VT being spelled inside the gloves when the hands lock together is phenomenal.
- Overall they look sleek.

I’d argue Mizzou’s secondary plays without their heads, but that’s an entirely different rant.

Not a fan of this. Hopefully Nike realizes the level of fail behind these uniforms

This uniform is nice overal the gloves are sick, the cleats are clean and will get any job done, not to include that they are light as feathers and the compression shorts and stuff witcomes with the uniform are nice 2, u have 2 get a pic of that also
