| 1 | Florida | 1 |
It’s splitting hairs among these three teams. I bumped Florida and Texas up because they handled Vanderbilt and UCF respectively, while Alabama struggled at home with LSU. LSU is a quality opponent, but Florida was able to handle them on the road with a limited Tebow. |
| 2 | Texas | 1 |

| 3 | Alabama | 2 |

| 4 | TCU | 2 |

| 5 | Georgia Tech | 3 |
The Bees needed overtime to beat a feisty Wake Forest. However, the only thing I’m taking away from the game is CPJ’s balls to go for it on down by 3 in OT on 4th down. |
| 6 | Cincinnati | 1 |
I like that they held off the Uconn comeback, but an elite team (defense) never lets them back into the game to begin with. |
| 7 | Boise State | 3 |
They struggled with Louisiana Tech and Oregon lost, yet they move up… Ahh the benefit of the teams above you losing. |
| 8 | Oregon | 1 |
How do you hold USC to 327 yards two weeks ago and let the Cardinal gash you for 505? |
| 9 | Southern Cal | 5 |
Matt Barkley struggled and the defense forced four turnovers. When they put together a complete game they’re going to be good. |
| 10 | Ohio State | 5 |
Oh no, sorry Penn State fans, the word we were looking for was success, success.![]() |
| 11 | Pittsburgh | ||
| 12 | Iowa | 8 |
The Curious Case of where to rank Iowa. Without Ricky Stanzi they might not be a top twenty team. Of course the jury is still out and everyone will know more after their game with tOSU. |
| 13 | Miami (Florida) | 3 |
Toyed with Virginia for a half before kicking off the beginning to the end of the Al Groh era. |
| 14 | LSU | 5 |
|
| 15 | Houston | 3 |
Need this 51 yard field goal as time expired. That’s a little too close for comfort against a .500 team. |
| 16 | Utah | 1 |
|
| 17 | Arizona | 2 |
|
| 18 | Clemson | 3 |
Aside from the kicking game, the best performance of any ACC team this weekend. |
| 19 | Oklahoma State | 3 |
|
| 20 | Wisconsin | 4 |
|
| 21 | South Florida | 4 |
|
| 22 | Brigham Young | 1 |
The blowout losses to FSU and TCU are standing out more than the squeaker win against Oklahoma. |
| 23 | Penn State | 10 |
They’re 2009’s Georgia, a lot of wins none of which are impressive. Lost their biggest two games of the year at home. The only way they move up from here is if they win their bowl game. |
| 24 | Stanford | ||
| 25 | Virginia Tech | Ah Beamer Ball, stout defense, fundamentally sound special teams and glimpses of greatness on offense. | |
|
Dropped Out: Oklahoma (#18), Notre Dame (#20).

| My Mumme Poll top five and next seven are exactly those teams 1-5 and 6-12 respectively. | |||

Now you know I’m about the furthest thing from an SEC homer. But I think LSU would demolish (not just beat) the following teams ranked ahead of them: TCU, GT, Cincy, Ohio St, Wann-stache, Iowa and Miami. They should have beaten Bama on the road.
