Last week’s ballot
Dropped Out: Florida State (#15), Washington (#16), Nebraska (#21), Kansas (#22).

Because we need to have an open mind. Virginia Tech’s wins over Nebraska and Miami just made both the Hokies and Tide look a whole helluva lot better. Alabama deserves to the number one team, because they’re blowing out bad teams and hammering good ones.

Tyrod. Since 1:44 left against Nebraska Taylor has been living up to the hype.

Now THAT’S #SWAGGA. H/T: The Doctor.

This week heroics weren’t necessary because Number Five did something he hadn’t done before, manage a game. He didn’t have to carry the cross of the offense, rather he just made plays as the opportunities presented themselves. And that’s as much a credit to Tyrod as it is to Bryan Stinespring. We’ve found our offensive identity: pounding the rock. Ryan Williams is a tough bruising runner, with breakaway speed and elusiveness. Stinespring made Williams the focal point of the offense, cut back on insanely high number of carries out of the shotgun and that opened everything up.

Tebow. So he is human after all.

Orson’s reaction is a must read. As far as BlogPoll consideration goes, Florida minus Tebow is an unknown quantity that’s most certainly not the best team in the country.

#SWAGGA. Miami was back, for a fleeting moment, but Virginia Tech never left. I still believe the ‘Canes are a solid football team, that has a very real chance at starting the season 3-1. At the beginning of the year, that was unthinkable.

Justifications. Up until now I referred to Jeff Tedford as the west coast Tommy Bowden. Wrong. Tommy is the east coast Jeff. Houston moves up after beating another Big 12 South team. However, with little competition left on the schedule the ‘Cougs have hit the ceiling, at least on my ballot. Cincinnati’s seven spot jump is due in part to their gritty victory over Fresno State and because they should have been higher in last week’s ballot. There’s no room for Nebraska, because they don’t have a whiff of a quality victory. That will change once conference play starts. Kansas is my 26th team, because I loved USF’s win at Doak. It could be argued that both PSU and Ole Miss don’t deserve to be ranked. I’m listening…

*We all know a hangover is the real number one. It could down any of these teams. NEED COOL LIQUIDS.

Michigan really looked like dogshit on defense on Saturday. I would not be shocked if we lose to the team who thinks of us as a rival.

That Tebow hit looked bad. He should definitely not be playing this Saturday and should be out for a while if he is thinking with his long term health in mind. If you puke ass after a concussion, then it isn’t mild. He should probably be out for 4-6 weeks if he wants to do what is right long term.
