Logistics are after the jump.
Top 25
Trying to justify preseason rankings is pretty pointless. My logic, much like any other sane voter’s, was to rank conference contenders and teams with more key returning starters towards the top. As the season progresses this spot will have more thorough rationalizations. For now I leave you with…
South Florida – They return 12 starters including Grothe and Selvie. Call it a hunch, but I think they get their shit together and make some noise.
Absentees
Iowa – Ricky Stanzi is back, but Shonn Greene their best player from ‘08 is off to the league. In my mind the jury will be out until after their first four games.
Notre Dame – I won’t even consider ranking them until after they play USC.
Oregon State – James and Jacquizz are amazing, but only three starters return on defense.
As always let me know why I am wrong and if you make a good enough argument I’ll change around my final ballot.
