One of the most important metrics to compute when evaluating a schedule are the amount days between games. Long rests are advantageous because they give teams more time to prepare and heal, short weeks do the exact opposite. Let’s call 6 days off (Saturday to Saturday) a normal layover between games. Now let’s look at the days off on the Big East schedules that fall outside that range.
Analysis
- Most of the schedules are pretty “normal”. The only deviation are kickoff weekend and Thursday night games.
- It definitely favors Georgia Tech that they and Clemson both have short weeks before they play.
- The Jackets also get an extra full week to prepare for Georgia. Does any rivalry have a better name than CLEAN OLD FASHIONED HATE?
- NC State has 2 weeks to rest and scheme before they head to Tallahassee to play FSU in a game that can determine the ACC Atlantic.
- UVA should start whoring itself out on Friday nights so they can get some TV time.
- Miami is going to need the extra days of rest and preparation against VT and GT. After FSU those will be their 2 most physical games of the year.
What do you guys think? The full breakdown is after the jump.
