It’s official Tennessee and NC State are going to kickoff 2012 in the Georgia Dome.

The Wolfpack and Volunteers will play in that year’s Chick-fil-A Kickoff Classic, Chick-fil-A Bowl officials announced Thursday. The game will take place Sept. 1, 2012.

Pardon me, but do you have any reduced jail sentence? Former Buckeye Maurice Clarett is asking Ohio Gov. Ted Strickland for a get of jail free early card.

Clarett, 25, who has been imprisoned since 2006, is not scheduled to be released until Feb. 3, 2014 from the Toledo Correctional Institution after he pleaded guilty to aggravated robbery and carrying a concealed weapon.

On Thursday, Franklin County prosecutor Ron O’Brien’s office released a letter written to Strickland that opposed the pardon because Clarett “is not such an extraordinary case of merit or injustice that the power of Executive clemency should be recommended or exercised.”

We’ve always had a soft-spot for Mo, probably because we were rooting for him to get caught up some illegal benefits scandal that would take down tOSU from the inside out. Seriously though, leading Ohio State to a National Championship earns you free beers and dinners in Ohio, not a pardon from prison. As a man he’s going to continue to pay for the stupid decisions that he made as a kid. Even if it seems like he’s reforming.
