Bedlam on the field, hilarity at GameDay. Here are the funniest signs from Oklahoma State versus Oklahoma.
The phrase “I’m Lou Holtz’d” will replace “cocked”, “smashed” and “hammered” in my lexicon.
Bradford is a fluffer. Wow that is dicked up. Continue Reading “GameDay Signs – Stillwater, Oklahoma” »

Nothing new to see here. My top 6 stays the same. Is it Championship Saturday yet?
Georgia Tech is the best team in the ACC right now and they aren’t going to Tampa. Â I bet they feel like Virginia Tech in 2006. Â But fear not Yellow Jackets for Paul Johnson has struck fear in the hearts of their enemies and no one wants to play GT in 2009. Â Amazing win against Georgia today.
I like Ole Miss. A lot. They beat Florida, push Alabama to their limit and most importantly are playing excellent football in November. Â Jevan Sneed is en fuego.
Ball State will never move above 25 in this poll, because they’ve played a laugher of a schedule.

Two great signs from Oregon State versus Oregon. Â I have to give the edge to “Duck Hunt 08″, but “Smack the Quack” is pretty decent.

Florida
Since losing to Ole Miss two months ago the Gators have been unstoppable. They must be wearing their Citizen Eco-Drive watches. Just look at these margins of victory: 38-7, 51-21, 63-5, 49-10, 42-14, 56-6, 70-19. And the loss to the Rebels isn’t looking nearly a bad as it did in September. They can be 8-4 with a victory in the Egg Bowl this Friday. I think Florida is a consensus number one in the minds of coaches, writes and bloggers. However, most voters are restricting themselves from voting the Gators number one because of the unwritten rule that undefeated teams from power conferences must be ranked higher than those with as loss. I am not and make no bones about it Florida is the best team right now.
Oklahoma, Texas and Texas Tech
First off we need to remember we are trying to order three teams who have gone 1-1 versus each other. So let’s throw the “but x beat y” argument out, because we can always make the “y beat z” counter point. Everyone can agree Texas Tech is the odd man out here. I am ranking Oklahoma higher than Texas because Oklahoma played and dominated the most impressive out of conference schedule.
Alabama
Alabama is like the $40 pair of white Reeboks your dad would wear. They flat out get the job done, but with no style. Continue Reading “BlogPoll Justifications Week 13″ »

Potential future failures at the University of Washington include: Les Miles, Chris Peterson, Pat Hill, Will Muschamp, Gary Pinkel and Dennis Franchione.  Our crystal ball gages their interest levels: no, no, no but I’de like to schedule you in 2010, no, no and are you guys really that desperate.
Dr. Lou is sick of the incompetence at Notre Dame.
“[On the 2009 Notre Dame schedule] you’ve got Nevada, you’ve got Connecticut and Washington State and Washington … the schedule is not as tough now as it was then,” Holtz said.
“People say the academics are too tough … the academics are a great asset at Notre Dame. When you do recruit an individual who has a [solid] academic background, you have as good a chance of getting him as anybody else because of your combination of football and academics. And the alumni can help the graduates.”
“The stadium now seats 80,000. What in the world… I can’t see any reason that Notre Dame cannot continue to compete for a national championship.”
I’m sure he’ll be glad to know they are going to compete for a second consecutive losing season, because they won’t turn down a bowl bid.
Brian Kelly doesn’t want Tennessee to ruin his season too. Â He’s probably a little pissed his future employer just lost #1 all around running back recruit David Oku.

Every Monday Heather Dinich hosts an ACC chat and answers questions at ESPN.com.  This is her most perceptive and astute response.
Aaron Miami:Â what has to happen for Miami to win the accÂ
 Heather Dinich: (12:49 PM ET ) 2009Â
and just because its one of the better virtual bitch slaps I’ve seen lately…
H.L. (Tampa, FL):Â Heather, I’ve been compiling your negative quotes about FSU’s chances against Florida the last couple of weeks and plan to send them to the athletic department for some bulletin board material. If you can give me another one where you trash FSU, I’d greatly appreciate it.Â
Heather Dinich: (12:11 PM ET ) Make sure you send Bobby Bowden’s, too, since he said Florida and Oklahoma are in a class of their own when it comes to explosive power. Oh, and it would take about 50 points to beat them.Â
