ACC Roundtable: Numero Dos

Mike at Tar Heel Mania is hosting this weeks ACC Roundtable. Make sure to wear your powder blues and vist his site for the rest of the Roundtable answers and to express your hatred of Duke.
1. Okay, first things first: could someone please explain what the hell just happened this past Saturday?

Heather Dinich used her Greek Goddess abilities to flip the league on top of its head, again.

2. Good Maryland, Bad Maryland, we’ve seen a fair share of both in 2008. Good Maryland may be the best team in the ACC, while Bad Maryland could probably lose by 20 to anyone left on their schedule. Which Maryland do we see for the rest of the season and where do you expect the Terps to finish?

If Good Maryland is heads and Bad Maryland is tails flipping a coin for each of their remaining games might be the most scientific way to figure out how they will finish up.  If we assume heads comes up five times and Bad Maryland doesn’t poke its head out of its shell the Terps will go 3-2.  They should win their home games against NC State, UNC and FSU, but they aren’t winning in Chesnut Hill or Blacksburg.

3. Injuries are a part of college football, but they seem to have ravaged ACC offenses this year. Wake Forest has been without Sam Swank, Clemson is without C.J. Spiller, UNC is without T.J. Yates and Brandon Tate, Virginia Tech is without Kenny Lewis Jr., and NC State is without just about everybody. Which team misses their fallen star(s) most and why?

Its a close call, but Sam Swank means more to his team than any of the others.  And yes I realize he is a kicker.  But Swank, the senior leader, is Mr. Automatic for Wake and reliability like that at any position is hard to find.  Obviously every offense wants to score 7, but those 3s add up and are extremely important for Wake a team that finds themselves in a close game each week.

4. Last one: the pretty much unanimous division champs were Virginia Tech and Wake Forest last week. Given all the craziness that just happened, give us your updated ACC Championship scenario.

I am sticking with the Hokies and the Deacons, but we will know more after this weekend. Obviously.  If Wake can travel down to Miami and win they only have one tough game left, Boston College in the snake pit.  The Hokies hold the tie breaker over Georgia Tech so until they lose another conference game they are in the drivers seat.

Best answer I’ve seen to #1 yet. Of course, that implies that Heather Dinich has abilities. Or is Greek.
