Virginia Tech beat Nebraska 35-30 in Lincoln on Saturday night. ”Home Game,” The Game-Day Magazine for Nebraska Fans! publishes, from what I understand, a weekly guide to the upcoming game.  This was from the Virginia Tech edition.
5 THEY’RE THE PANSIES THAT YOU MIGHT EXPECT THEM TO BE
You wouldn’t expect a soft East Coast team to have success against a rugged conference like the Big 12, and sure enough Virginia Tech is 5-7 lifetime versus Big 12 teams. Â Their most recent game against a Big 12 opponent resulted in a 24-21 Orange Bowl loss to Kansas this past January.

My gut reaction is now that Nebraska football is about as relevant as Illinois West Virginia they have to back up their ish talking with their conference’s (Big 12) successes. Over the last four and a quarter years Virginia Tech is 46-12 and Nebraska is 30-23. To boot Big Red has lost a luxury they’ve enjoyed for many years: program stability. A humbling experience for sure.
As far as the notion that the Hokies are a “soft East Coast team”, Blacksburg is located on the outskirts of the Blue Ridge Mountains where we wash our balls with ice water and eat a diet consisting mainly of undercooked deer. Say what you will though Huskers, but I’de rather be a pansy, in the BCS and relevant then part of a dead program.

In an effort to revive his struggling 1-3 football team Coach Fulmer is splitting reps at quarterback between Jonathan Crompton and backup Nick Stephens.  Ahh the last measure of a desperate coach the mid-season quarterback swap.
We have no consistency in the passing game right now at all,” Fulmer said. “We need to look at our options.
They have no consistency in the running game either. The Vols rank 81st in total offense and 101st in scoring offense. Â With road trips to Georgia and Vanderbilt there is little chance Fulmer is going to be able to hang his hat on another SEC Championship appearance and subsequent loss.

What a great day to be a fan of the #2 and soon to be #1 Alabama Crimson Tide. I’m feeling finer than a frog hair split four ways. Â Bama under the leadership of Coach Nick Saban played one helluva game. Â And for those of yall who says Coach Nick Saban ain’t got no heart, just looky how he told our boys to take it easy em poor dogs in the second half.

Alabama is my #1
I am sure most people will have Oklahoma in the top spot, but I am going with The Tide. Â They have two extremely impressive road wins @Clemson and @ Georgia and have two of the best lines in the country.
Penn St
I gave them a bump up because they are a very complete football team. Â However, PSU > Oregon St > USC does not imply PSU > USC. Â The transitive law of football victories does not exist.
Texas
They should probably be lower, but they are talented and have slaughtered everyone they’ve played.
Florida and Georgia
Neither of these teams are out of the title mix. Â You are on crack if you tell me a one loss Florida or Georgia doesn’t make it to Miami.
Auburn
I dropped the Tigers because their offense sucks and I think they would lose to every team I put ahead of them.
Wisconsin
How do you lose that game up 19-0?
Michigan St
Javon Ringer carried them into my top 25.

I am on cloud nine. Â Finally we looked like we are improving offensively. Â Tyrod is starting to take command and Evans is emerging, Â Its old hat to say but another fucking stellar defensive performance by Bud Foster. Â Everyone Hokie should be fired up, Â We have one more warm up game against Wku before we get into the meat of our schedule.
This team is starting to come together and I am fucking fired up. Wooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Hokies!

Donald Brown is an absolute beast.  He pounded the rock 33 times for 190 yards.  On average Uconn is picking up a first down every two times he carries the ball. The Steve Kragthorpe era has been a stellar disappointment. Louisville makes too many stupid mistakes, like fumbling the ball after a 30+ yard catch and run or getting dumb shit penalties on 3rd and 4th down.  I think some “Bring Back Schnellenberger” signs are now appropriate Cardinals fans.
Uconn is now 5-0 (1-0) and looks like like the team that will challenge USF for the conference championship. Â The Huskies compliment their punishing rushing attack with a stout opportunistic defense. They lost senior quarterback Tyler Lorenzen with a broken foot last night, but sophomore Notre Dame transfer Zach Frazer came in and played very well. Â It will be interesting to see how the Huskies handle their next stretch of games: @UNC and @Rutgers before getting Cincinnati and West Virginia at home. It isn’t unfathomable that Uconn will be 8-0 when the ‘Eers come to town.

Last night as I am drinking a stellar Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA and watching Oregon St go up 20-0 some old guy stumbled up next to me at the bar. Â He was cocked. Â His old guy friend (perhaps care giver) was behind him urging him to leave the bar. Â Instead he opted to ask me if I wanted a shot. Â I declined and “Pussy” was his response and some ball breaking about how I couldn’t keep up with him ensued. Â So I asked him what are we drinking. Â He ordered up three large shots of Don Julio which is delicious by the way. Â The old guy friend looked less than enthused. Â As I knock back mine in .2 seconds the old guy takes a sip and puts 3/4s of the shot back on the bar. Â I then bust on him before he mumbles something and walks out of the door.
The moral of the story is old people cannot out drink me and should not be let out of the house after 7pm. Because who would watch Jeopardy?
