Here is the rundown from EDSBS. THE COLLEGE FOOTBALL BLOG AWARDS 2008: BAILAMOS!
Best new blog: CollegeGameBalls. Yes I voted for my self. Is their some sort of shame in that…? I think these top posts over the last year speak for themselves:
- Charlie Weis Explains the Notre Dame Playbook
- Want a Raise? Flirt with Arkansas
- What if South Florida Runs the Table?
- 2007 Notre Dame Drinking Game
- Jerry Jones Helps Arkansas Hire Bobby Petrino
- Gameday Signs
- The Biggest Home Field Advantage is Thursday Night
- My personal favorite How to be a College Football Fanatic.

Best community: EDSBS. I think this is pretty obvious. For Christ’s sake Verne Lundquist is a reader
Best writing: EDSBS. Orson is Mavis Beacon.
Best post: Not many people read it, but if this doesn’t sum up 99.9% of college football fans then I don’t know what does.
Funniest blog: Loser with Socks. AngryEer’s crazy ass rants and comments about Big East supremacy in an all SEC world are to die for. But seriously, LWS is just one big funny masterpiece.
Best analysis: Sunday Morning Quarterback. There is too much analysis going on there.
Best MSM blog: Is Stewart Mandel somehow not going to win this?
Best looking blog: I am going to go with LWS because there are always tits everywhere.
The Job Award: mgoblog. They lost to Appalachian State (hot!, Hot!, HOT!) and kept on truckin’.
Best audio: EDSBS Live.
Best photoshop: The Failboat
Best YouTube:
Best ACC blog: Eagle in Atlanta
Best Big Ten blog: Busted Coverage (formally Big Ten Tailgate)
Best SEC blog: Voluminous. I bet they wish their players are as dedicated to Tennessee football as they are.
MNC: Heisman Pundit: 365 days of the greatest award in college sports.

Not many people are feeling tonight’s BCS National Championship game, but I think it has the makings of a classic. LSU is a talented veteran team led by a head coach who makes his decisions with his balls rather than his brain. OSU is looking like a throwback of their 2002 championship team. They have a talented young running back and an imposing defense led by the intelligent and calculating Jim Tressel. LSU thinks they are a team of destiny and OSU feels disrespected. OSU is out to prove last year was a fluke and LSU is looking forward to being crowned champion. All of the above will factor into making tonight a classic.
What to Watch for Early
The obvious, can OSU hang with LSU? Does all the SEC speed talk have merit or can OSU effectively move the ball and contain LSU. The most telling battle will be in the trenches. Watch to see how the OSU offensive line handles All American Glen Dorsey. Are they going to be able to drive him off the line of scrimmage? Are they going to need to double him on every passing down? Also watch their counterparts on the defensive line. Can they collapse and contain the pocket on Matt Flynn \ Ryan Perrilloux? Early on LSU will try to knock OSU out with big plays by getting their playmakers vertical and in space.
How will the long layover affect each team? Has a now healthy LSU turned back into team killing machine? Is OSU just one big bottle of pissed off rage and emotion waiting to explode?
Does playing in the Superdome really mean it’s a home-field advantage for LSU?
What to Watch for Late
How does each team adjust and handle adversity. Whoever has the better halftime coaching staff will be a big factor in who wins this game. Will Todd Boeckman be able to make a couple of big plays in the second half to spark his offense?
How does it End
The superior athleticism and big game experience of LSU will shine brightest. However, OSU will keep it close and it wouldn’t be surprising to me for them to be holding a narrow lead late. In the end LSU wins it 31-24.

Bryan Stinespring is a terrible offensive coordinator. He needs to be fired. He does not deserve any more chances. He is a loser and as Hokie fans we all know he needs to go. Our offense once again lost us a big game and his play calling is biggest reason for their failure. It is inexplicable why we stopped handing the ball off to Brandon Ore in the second half on 2nd and 3rd downs. We pissed away first down rushes of 5, 4, 7, 6, etc… yards with stupid bullshit passing plays. POUND THE FUCKING ROCK! Just like on October 25th, against Boston College, our offense was unable to turn a stellar defensive performance into a win. It is as simple as that.
