I agree the Duck's are nothing without him, but the Heisman is about being the most outstanding player not a MVP. I think Tebow (regardless of the Dixon's injury) is more outstanding than him.

No, I said his injury should cost him the Heisman. But I believe he should be honored on people's ballots. Like I said, suffer through one Duck's game without him and you will put his name in the three spot.

Darren McFadden split carries with another 1,000 yard back, had no passing game at all to protect him, he carried a huge bullseye, and played up to the competition like LSU. He played hurt as well. His worst games were when he was probably 70% healthy. Arkansas wins 0 conference games without McFadden!

A yeah I made a typo. He basically missed a 1/4 of the season. I think Dixon is great, but unfortunately if AD couldn't win the Heisman when he went out then neither can Dixon.

Also, he took a 4th and 3 50 yards to the house on a torn ACL. So even when he got hurt, he didn't go quietly.

@cgb

I don't think you watched Dixon this year. Dixon missed less than 1/4 of the season not 3/4 and if you don't have him on your ballot you should be required to watch Oregon V Michigan followed directly by Oregon V UCLA.

Dixon was the MVP of college football there is no question (would the Gators fail to score a single solitary point without Tebow, no.) But Dixon missing the end of the season will likely (and should) cost him the Heisman.

@fagan I am not hating on chase Daniel. Tebow is simply a better college qb and a more outstanding player.

The thing everyone needs to understand about quarterbacks and players is that they all play within a scheme.

I also think it is absurd to think that Florida won't continue to use Tebow as a fullback when they need tough yards for first downs or touchdowns next year. The whole Florida offense will always run through Tebow.

@The_Overdog - If Dixon hadn't missed 3/4 of the season he would have been #3 on the list.

I find it hilarious when people say Tebow shouldn't win the Heisman because of the system he runs. This isn't Texas Tech or Hawaii winging the ball 70 times a game in a largely gimmicky offense. The spread offense is no more a gimmicky system than the West Coast offense or an option offense, and how many guys have already won the Heisman running those offenses?

He may fit the system perfectly, but it's not a gimmicky system designed to produce great stats but not actually beat anybody - it's a system that wins, and Tebow runs it perfectly. He's absolutely as deserving of the Heisman as every option back that ever won it - which is to say, a lot of them.
