Research Shows Students Drink More on Game Day

Researchers at the University of Texas have found college students drink more on football game day more than any other day. No shit Sherlock. Massive alcohol intake is at the very core of what makes college football such a great sport. Without alcohol none of the following high points of college football would be possible: beer balls, drunken arguments, collegegameballs.com, pranks, begin an obnoxious fanatic, tailgating, etc…

The researchers found students were especially likely to drink more during high-profile games against conference or national rivals.

During my senior year at VT we closed out at home with UVA. I remember waking up at 8:00am to begin slamming yuengdogs for a noon kickoff. My girlfriend had invited her friend who was a senior at UVA to the game. By the time we arrived at Lane Stadium I was in the zone. After every score I would turn towards her friend and scream “Fuck UVA”. Then I would run up the bleachers to where some more UVA infiltrators were sitting and push them around and give them the finger. After we ended up dominating 24-10 my girlfriend asked her friend if she was wanted to go out to a couple of parties. Her point blank answer was, “I don’t want to go out with the most obnoxious person in Blacksburg.”

Alcohol + College Football + Rivalries = Awesome + Taunting of girlfriend’s butter-faced friend.

That was the same game I started at 4am and was blacked out by noon… arrested before kickoff (fighting cops + UVAg students) and came to in the drunk tank.

I was dressed like this as well ( http://filebox.vt.edu/users/bahuffma/uvgay_pregame.JPG )

Simply put, UVa fans are the lamest football fans on the planet. They need to be excoriated for even thinking they have a chance this weekend.
