Sure it’s disappointing losing to Ohio St. and bowl games every year with talent, but it’s not like this is the first time it’s ever happened in the Carr era and they have been to 2 Rose Bowls in 4 years with the potential of a third rather than the zero trips to the Rose Bowl from 98-2002. Somehow, it seems like things would be different if they had won that game. Better recruits, probably some more momentum coming into this season, and I'm guessing Lloyd Carr wouldn't be on the verge of quitting. Hart and Long are legit first rounders and Henne will probably go there as well. Leon Hall, Braylon Edwards and Marlin Jackson all were first rounders too. Carr recruits like an animal and gets top talent. They just never win the big game and always lose one game that you just have to shake your head at. I dont think that is the case though. Getting thumped by USC was mostly their secondaries fault. There is certainly a downward move from the Rose Bowl to App St. at the very least.
