Money Shot Rankings Week 9

  1. LSU – The Tigers are on the road @ Alabama in their biggest road test of the year.  The Tide fans are going to be going crazy and I am sure this is the one game Saban has been looking forward to winning all year long.
  2. Oregon – Stewart and Dixon are the west coast White and Slayton and they play and beat good teams.
  3. Oklahoma – The Sooners could make a very big statement by throttling Texas A&M Saturday night.
  4. Arizona St – I am a believer in the Sun Devils and Dennis Erickson.  If they can knock off Oregon they have a legitimate claim to being #2.
  5. Ohio St -  Yes, we know OSU can beat every team in the Big Ten.  What an accomplishment.  Maybe they should test themselves by playing some 1aa teams…
  6. Boston College – Big win on Thursday night, but how good is this team?  They looked like ass the entire game and it took a huge, even by Hokie standards, choke for them to win. If FSU comes to play I seem them matching up very well.
  7. Kansas – I was more impressed Mangino had the balls to wear a velour tracksuit than I was with the win.
  8. Missouri – Chase Daniel has 18 touchdowns and 8 picks and is completing 69.9% of his passes.  I can’t believe I am saying this, but I am looking forward to their end of the season showdown with Kansas.
  9. South Florida – Where has the magic gone?
  10. Tennessee – I am going to give the edge to the Vols, because they beat Georgia.  Try not to get thumped again.

I’de Like to Watch Arizona St @ Oregon

Ide Like to Watch Arizona St @ OregonThis weekend’s biggest game is #4 Arizona St @ #5 Oregon.  The outcome will not only help shape the Pac 10 Championship race, but the BCS National Championship picture as well.  There is one problem, like most people I won’t get the game and I didn’t get the last two big ones either.  Last week I missed out on USC @ Oregon and the week before California @ Arizona State.  The Pac 10 needs to step it up, get this game on ESPN and gain some national exposure. It has been confirmed College Gameday will be produced from Eugene and I can only hope this is a positive sign that ESPN and the Pac 10 will be able to work out a deal to get this game shown nationally.

Game Balls Week 9

Virginia Tech – How do you give up 2 touchdowns in the final 2:11, at home on Thursday night? The answer is simple: do the exact opposite of everything you had been doing on defense, not recover an onside kick and stop covering receivers before the whistle. Also, I am no longer repping Blacksburg as a tough place to play at night. The fans looked soft and sounded complacent with 5 minutes left in the game. I even saw one douche in a wig smiling after BC scored their second touchdown.

California – After three losses in a row the collapse is in progress. Nate Longshore was intercepted twice and the Sun Devils had their way with the Cal defense. Keegan Herring and Dimitri Nance had 96 and 85 rushing yards respectively. It would be awesome if I were able to watch one Arizona St game this year.

Penn State – The whiteouts aren’t working.

South Florida – In the “We Haven’t Had Division 1a Football Programs For Too Long” Bowl South Florida set their national credibility back 2 years. I cannot believe they lost to Uconn. Uconn should have lost to Temple on a bullshit review and to Louisville on some crazy ass not fair catch fair catch signal. Meanwhile, back at the ranch the Bulls beat a very good Auburn team on the road and West Virginia. On paper it looked like a no-brainer. South Florida was able to rack up 440 yards, but shot themselves in the foot with two interceptions. The Uconn defense made some key plays and the offense scored when it mattered.

Rutgers – Down 17-3 at the half Rutgers said fuck keep on chopping. Minus 4 turnover margin is never going to win you a game.

Florida – I think the Tim Tebow is Chuck Norris website was a bit premature. We all know Chuck Norris would never have anything less than 100 yards a carry. Tebow had 13 carries for -15 yards. The Gators absolutely need him rushing well to win games. Also, how awesome was Mark Richt’s plan of taunting Florida? We think very.

Congratulations to Boston College

Last night’s loss was pretty depressing.  It definitely hurts more to lose in the last 2:11 after dominating the entire game than it does to be down and out 24-0 at the half.  At least, when the latter happens you can get a jump start on mass alcohol consumption. I am not sure what you can say about the game.  We let one slip through our fingers.  With 4 minutes left in the game it felt like the win was a foregone conclusion.  The Hokie faithful and the players lost all their intensity and just started going through the motions. At that point, as a Heisman candidate, Matt Ryan did what he should and got his team back into the game and won it.

The good news is this, we are getting better.  The offensive line looked much better in protection, Glennon made some good passes and decisions, the running game is starting to come around and even without Vince Hall the defense played excellent football.  Let’s be honest, this loss means absolutely nothing.  Sure we are going to drop in the rankings, but who cares we had no chance to make the BCS Championship game. As a team we need to focus on winning the rest of our games and making the ACC Championship game.

Passion of The Jesuit

“…Virginia Tech won’t even belong on the same field with Boston College, that’s how good Boston College is…”

Fuck Jesse Palmer and Fuck Boston College. I am tired hearing and reading about how Boston College and future Heisman winner Matt Ryan are going to kick down our front door, cook their chowdah in our fucking pots and walk away with a decisive win.

The big stadiums don’t phase these guys at all, or how loud it is. We went down to Tech, it didn’t matter. We went to Notre Dame they had 80,000 last week it didn’t matter“, Coach Jagodzinski.

To quote Dwight Schrute, “False!” With all due respect Thursday Night at Lane Stadium is not Bobby Dodd on a late summer Saturday nor is it a lazy Saturday at 1-6 Notre Dame. It is rip-roaring, distracting, deafening and to say otherwise only shows your ignorance.

I honestly believe (maybe foolishly) that this will be the game we get our shit together. The offensive line is finally healthy and like last year Ore will start making an impact to take preasure off of the passing game. All three phases of the game will feed off of each other for a total victory.

Money Shot Rankings Week 8

  1. LSU – LSU took everything Auburn gave them and they were still standing at the end.  The last second touchdown pass worked, but I don’t think they wanted to cut it that close.  Once again The Hat shows off the grapefruits.
  2. Oklahoma – They should have beat Iowa St by more points.  I bet they make up for it next week by crushing Texas A&M back into the stone-age.
  3. Florida – A little too high (no pun)? Probably, but it is my poll. The only two teams that could beat Florida are ranked above them.  I don’t think any other team would have a shot against the Gators.
  4. South Florida – A very close game against Rutgers, they are only going to get better though.
  5. Ohio State – They are 8-0 and honestly this is as high as I am going to rank them.
  6. Oregon – Make or break this week against USC.
  7. Mizzou – They took a lot of frustration out on Texas Tech last weekend.
  8. Kentucky – Tough loss in a great game against Florida.  If they win out they have a chance of making an at large bowl.
  9. Boston College – Is going to lose the Virginia Tech this week and move out of my poll forever.
  10. Virginia Tech – Big game this Thursday against Boston College.  It is amazing how many people have forgot how awful this team looked against LSU.

Game Balls Week 8

South Carolina – I am a Steve Spurrier fan.  Hell if I went to Florida or South Carolina I’de sporting the ear to ear shit eating grin of the Ole Ball Coach on my left ass cheek.  Favoritism aside, how can the Cock and Shoot only score 6 points on Vanderbilt?  The Ball Coach says it is because Vandy would be a Championship caliber team if the played the Ohio State schedule.  I think it is because the looked ahead to their game with Tennessee next week.  Either way no National Championship for the Cocks this year.

Notre Dame – USC out gained Notre Dame 462 to 165 and rolled them up tighter than Weis’ front butt 38-0.  At what point does Weis’ free pass end?  Since becoming head coach the Irish are only 20-13 and seem to be getting worse as the season progresses.  With all the non-deserved hype and media buzz last year where is the criticism this year?.  I haven’t read or listened to one critical piece about Weis from any of the major media outlets.  If Weis was bold enough to say this wasn’t a rebuilding year, why won’t anyway say his coaching job this year has sucked? Sack up media!

Texas Tech – Its amazing how the Texas Tech offense never looks good against any team with a semblance of a defense.  Graham Harrell threw 4 interceptions and never looked back once the blowout was on.  I hate to hate on another team like this, but this is you Hawaii.  If you were to play in a legitimate conference against future NFL defenders your year would look like Texas Tech’s.  Sure you would get your 8 wins against the lesser conference teams, but you would never throw it 60 times against any good defense and win.

Tennessee – The Vols’ got fucking thumped hard.  Bama controlled the ball and ran it right down their throat.  I love seeing Phil and the gang lose.

Cal – Back to back losses after the big Oregon victory.  Anytime the Bear’s have a chance for a big season they have a vintage 2002 Virginia Tech collapse.  Nate Longshore threw 3 interceptions, including a costly pick 6 at the end of the game.  The UCLA defense stepped up all game and controlled the line of scrimmage.  The Bruins are now 4-0 in the Pac 10.
