Is Lou Holtz on Suicide Watch?

The facial expression on Holtz’ face after Cripple Fight 2007 says it all. He looks depressed and lifeless, like he just was fatalitized by Shang Tsung. As much as I hate Notre Dame and think Lou Holtz is a senile ND homer, he is college football.  After all on the 7th day Holtz did Create College Football.

Lou Holtz was speechless during the halftime analysis of the Cripple Fight. You could tell he was in shock about what has happened to this program over the years. Lou Holtz turned ND around when he was there, going undefeated in his second season and winning a National Championship. He also produced Heisman Trophy winner Tim Brown, the last time ND would have either of those. Holtz’s record at ND was 64-9-1. Since then, inept coach after inept coach has tried to replicate what Holtz did, with little or no success. Bob Davie killed recruiting, was involved with off field alumni scandals and went 35-25. Ty Willingham came into a cinderella season of 10 wins beating ranked opponents, but also failed to recruit properly. After devastating losses in huge games his contract was cut short. Next to take the helm was Charlie “front butt” Weis. He garnered success in his first two seasons with Ty Willingham’s recruits. Everyone in the Irish Nation proclaimed it was ND’s return to glory. Except they have failed to beat a team ranked higher than them, have given up 30 or more points to in every big game since the Fiesta Bowl loss to OSU, and are now sliding on a 5 game losing streak by again 30 or more points each time with no end in sight. The reality that Lou Holtz faces is that the program he brought back to life is now on its death bed, if I were him I would be totally disheartened aswell. On a side note, he is still senile predicting 10 wins for the Irish this year.

Thank you for someone else being open minded. I hate to watch Lou Holtz on ESPN because he is so biased towards Notre Dame. Its like open up your 100 year old eyes, they are not good, they are not your team. Its okay. Be honest dam.
