Game Balls Week 2

  • Michigan – They are 0-2 and according to Lloyd Carr “hurting”. Dennis Dixon single handily white washed The Wolverines with a combined 368 yards and 4 touchdowns. Someone really needs to explain to Ron English the finer points of defending the spread. The good news is Mike Hart is predicted a victory against Notre Dame next week.
  • Boise St – Four turnovers later they no longer have the longest win streak in college football div 1 bowl division (or whatever it is).
  • Virginia Tech – Absolutely awful. The defense let up 598 total yards and the offense only mustered 148. Fucking pathetic. You can’t even throw Sean Glennon under the bus as it was a total team loss. However, here is where I get really pissed about the Glennon situation. From the moment the ink dried on Tyrod’s intent to play at Tech Glennon should have no longer been QB 1. Brian Steinspring put together a package of some of the most horrific plays ever. I wouldn’t trust him to coordinate a car pool. Is it that fucking difficult to create a spread package for TT since it is obvious the offensive line cannot move the line of scrimmage. Would a USC, Florida, Oklahoma or Texas alumni \ student \ fan please leave a message in the comments describing the jubilation of what it feels like to have your team show up for and win big games?
  • Auburn – USF came into your house forced 5 turnovers, made a sandwich with all the trimmings, rubbed their grimy ass feet on your couch and left with a 3 point victory. Every week the Big East looks more legitimate.
  • Miami – ABC why in the world was this game not broadcast in HD, yet shows like “What About Brian” are? Had it actually been a game and not an Oklahoma shit on Miami’s chest-a-thon that would have pissed me off. The ACC really represented itself this weekend.
  • Notre Dame – You better believe that was a paddling. The Irish have 6 offensive points on the year. Also the Penn St whiteout was pretty cool. False.
  • Lee Corso – This video sums it up

Wow, a lot of shit talking by VT alumni, fans, and players…. we got it back in spades. Props to LSU. That was the biggest abortion of a game I have ever seen. TT looked like he was the only one who showed up to play.

I fear that game set Hokie Nation back 3 years… we better win the ACC and stinespring better be fired.

I have to take my hat off to LSU, they showed up to play. My prediction of a VT upset couldnt have been more incorrect. LSU established a run game, controlled the line of scrimmage, and Matt Flynn looked cool, calm, and in control. Their defense was outstanding holding VT to 150 total yards. Although this win over a top ten opponent makes a case for a National Championship, there is alot left in this season. They still have a very tough schedule ahead of them.

Michigan looked absolutely awful, the entire team looked winded from the start of the 1st quarter. It was as if they were running in oatmeal. Chad Henne was utterly dreadful. Their defensive coordinator needs to be fired. But I’ll say this, they can still win the Big Ten and go to the rose bowl, even if they lose to ND next week. I hope they do, so it exposes how bullshit the Big Ten bowl tie ins are.

Onto ND, they didnt look too bad in the first quarter. They had some big plays, and some decent defensive stands. Until, plagued by penalties, they began to give Penn St shorter and shorted fields. Terrible coverages on special teams, and the fact that they couldnt sustain an offensive drive led to Penn St controlling the game from midway through the 2nd quarter to then end. Charlie Weis’ offensive genius gave us the swing pass this week. Time to clue you in, that worked well in the beginning of last year because you had Brady Quinn who was able to burn defenses down field with deep threats like McKnight and Samardijza. So when CBs backed off so they wouldnt get toasted and let up huge passes, it was available. You cant start the game with this and expect to still work after the second offensive series. You dont have legit down field threats, and you didnt even attempt to show that you might. Penn St snuffed those BS passes out right off the bat. Compliment that with the inability to establish the run and you become more predictable than a Barry Bonds steriod test. The defense played hard, but was winded by the 2nd qtr. If you cant sustain offensive drives, your defense doesnt get adequate rest and begins to give up huge plays, just as it did against Ga Tech. Something really needs fixing in South Bend, I would start by labelling this a rebuilding year, because thats what it is.

Auburn became a victim of its own ranking. They were too high preseason and werent punished by voters for almost losing to the Willie Chant last week. A very impressive South Florida came in and basically said fuck the SEC and your automatic preseason rankings. South Florida caused 5 turnovers and used them to keep themselves in the game. Auburn is a solid football team, but not a top 25 contender.

Boise St is no longer a sleeper team since winning the Fiesta Bowl. Teams come prepared to play them. Wash, who has the toughest schedule in college football according to SI.com, played well and snapped the nations longest win streak. I didnt see this game, but from the looks of the stats Ty Willingham came prepared. Boise St’s 9 penalties and 4 turnovers allowed Wash to send them packing with their first loss since the 2005 season.

Oklahoma just looks solid this year, Sam Bradford has had two very good games so far. As for Miami, its official, you can no longer beat the Cincinnati Bengals. The damage Larry Coker did to this program will be felt for years, they are no longer National contenders or an ACC threat. I’ll probably tune in next week though, with the hope of catching another 12 minute field encompassing brawl against FIU.

1st: the OU vs Miami was in HD. Second, good luck with Tyrod. Third, if it makes you feel better all the JMU kids are busting on Glennon again too. Mainly, because last year he said something and then when we busted on him, his LITTLE SISTER, messaged us on facbeook and just started the best back and forth ever. Long story short, we hate Glennon as much as VT and we don’t even really care haha. Good times, go ND, go Big Blue… go HOME hahahahaha

Thinking about it more the Oregon Michigan game wasnt in HD either. Maybe something is fucked up with ABC here. Either way it is lame. Post the comments from his sister I haven’t seen them.
