When a relaxing round of 18 turns ugly for me I usually just yell obscenities and try to crush the piss out of the ball. However, a golfer at Wildcreek (in appropriately named Sparks, Nevada) set the course on fire.
The golfer had knocked his ball into the grass beyond the course off the 3500 block of Sullivan Lane. When he tried to play back to the fairway, his club struck something that created a spark that started the fire.
I wonder what the odds of starting a brush fire with a golf club versus getting hit by lightning on the golf course are?
