Residents of Wisconsin are participating in the 19th anual Beer Belly, a race for charity. Sounds normal enough, right? Until you read instead of replenishing their bodies with water, they are downing beers.
Beer Belly veteran Mike Marin said this is one workout he can really get into.
“This way the wife allows me to have a couple of beers because you’re doing something,” he said. “A little exercise, you kill two birds with one stone.”
I wonder how many beers you can pound while running 2 miles? I personally wouldn’t run or even jog it. I’de walk, take my time and take solace in knowing my drinking is actually helping someone out. One beer every 1/4 mile will definitely work up a nice buzz to cross the finish line with.

What Took So Long?

Nothing funny about this post. Just some good news for Genarlow Wilson.
Incredibly, it looks like the state will keep him in jail at least another 3 weeks while they appeal the judge’s ruling. Crazy. Let’s just hope the judge upholds his ruling and throws out the appeal.
For those of you who do not know Wilson’s story, he was college football recruit and honor roll student tried and convicted of aggravated child molestation after receiving consensual oral sex from a 15 year old when he was 17. He was sentenced to 10 years in prison and was pinned with the label of child molester. He has been in prison since February 25, 2005.

As I browsed the news this morning I noticed something particualry alarming about the ESPN College Football homepage. The following is a sampling of the headlines:
- Two Gators Suspended Following Reported Arrest -
Brandon James (tailback/kickoff returner) and Brandon Powell (a reserve guard on the basketball team) were arrested after purchasing marijuana from an undercover officer. Both players were suspended indefinitely from their respective teams. Also, neither player has been charged because it’s ok for athletes to commit crimes as long as they don’t kill anyone…unless it’s Ray Lewis…or OJ. They can kill whoever they want. - Montana CB Faces Murder Charges in California – University of Montana cornerback Jimmy Wilson is in custody, accused of fatally shooting Kevin Smoot at his home outside LA. Wilson is the 6th current or former University of Montana player to be arrested within the last year.
